Dommus thinks outside the beatbox in his latest series of ‘musicalart’ videos
Following in the footsteps of the Vinyl v CD series, this new collection of films explores the human ability to make sounds and the artist’s ability to create a musical masterpiece.
Dommus’ new DVD compilation Body Rock, released on 1st June 2007, utilizes the latest techniques in music and video production to present a visually stunning and harmonious extravaganza.
As an intensely focused, experimental composer with a keen interest in new technologies, Dommus has the knack of combining pictures with their corresponding sounds in a way that induces a real sense of the boundless possibilities of using both mediums in one united art-form.
NewBeatPoetry is the first film where, using himself as the performer, Dommus delivers a poetic brief on how to be a rapper and beat-boxer, before altering the composition by digital means, generating a complete musical track.
JazRock is the second film and features Jasmine Dee Cooper as the performer. The soundtrack to the film aims to reflect the beauty and charm shown in Jasmine’s performance.
SelfSoundScape is the third film in the series and the ultimate result of the artist’s work on this project. This audio-visual journey into the artist’s imagination is intended to be a new representation of the classic ‘self portrait’.
